NSW Kart School Core Values

Karting is already a very safe sport. Under Karting NSW regulations (who oversee most kart racing and associated activities but NOT Hire Kart Centres in NSW) there are strict rules on safety equipment as well as what ages can be on track together, what karts they can drive, engines sizes etc etc

Unfortunately for beginners, that doesn’t mean that you’ll always be ‘looked after’ at your average practise day (don’t worry, both drivers were ok after the incident and a quick checkup from the ambulance). Here a much less experienced driver was on track with a seasoned racer, the new driver forgot to leave his foot on the brake after losing control. The outcome didn’t do much for the confidence of either driver! It was an extremely rare and unlikely event but……

At NSW Kart School we take safety to the NEXT LEVEL!

We hire the track for the day, so you won’t be sharing with the State Champion who’s trying to find the last tenth of a second, while you’re trying to string together two successive apexes!

At Come and Try Days, you are the only one on the track for your first few sessions. After that you are divided up into age groups (according to Karting NSW rules) and then further matched up with people of similar speed and ability. Within these groups, we only allow with a maximum of three people on the track at once, most often it is only two!

At our Level 1 Ready to Race Programs, again, following Karting NSW rules you are divide into age groups (7-12, 13-16 and 17+) and then further subdivided into groups based on your ability.

Although the sport can be expensive, especially at the pointy end of the field, it doesn’t need to be to find out if the sport if for you (or your child).

It breaks our heart to see Facebook ads where families have gone out and spent tens of thousands getting set up only to then trying to get back 50% of that after only a few hours or less on track.

NSW Kart School will hire you a kart and all of the safety gear that you require so that you can give the sport ‘a trial run’ before committing your time and money at the next level.

You certainly don’t need a brand new shiny kart at the start, but if you do have your own equipment, you can also attend our training days at a reduced rate.

And if you do decide that the sport of karting is for you – we’ll be there to guide you through the process of getting your first kart – whether it be new or used.

Fun is what we’re all about at NSW Kart Team and NSW Kart School. If you’re not having fun, what’s the point? Any no-one has more fun at the track than we do 😉

Pop quiz did this driver just;

a. Win his first race?

b. Win his first championship

c. Complete his first season, make a couple of great overtakes in that race and is now celebrating like his V8 Supercar heroes?

You guessed it – C!

The NSW Kart School Origin Story

NSW Kart School was created after I had noticed an increasing amount of interest coming from people who were visiting the track to see what Karting is all about and how they could get themselves or their kids involved. As most people who are interested at an entry point level don’t have the equipment required such as a Kart and trailer, I decided that if I bought and supplied the Karts plus all necessary gear, I could provide people the opportunity to drive a Go Kart where it is affordable and enjoyable.

NSW Kart School welcomes all drivers from 6yo through to adults. At our Kart School days, we have experienced junior and senior drivers from NSW Kart Team working alongside myself to teach and assist the students. We have found through our School Days that drivers respond well to our team members, as we have a range of ages and experience amongst the team means you can really relate to someone at all times.

You are welcome to attend as many NSW Kart School days as you like until you are comfortable. Whether that’s as a driver wanting to race themselves or as part of our NSW Kart Team . We will be more than happy to guide you through the process of choosing a suitable Kart, obtaining a licence through KNSW and joining your local Kart club, entering race meetings, scrutineers, filling out the forms, drivers briefing and of course races.

We do provide the option to lease a Kart if you want to attend race meetings but are not ready to purchase your own Kart.
